Hamas militants have transferred four female Israeli soldiers into the care of the Red Cross in Gaza City. They paraded the women in front of an assembled crowd before the handover took place.
In response, Israel is poised to free 200 Palestinian prisoners or detainees later today, marking another step in the tenuous ceasefire.
The four Israeli soldiers - Karina Ariev, 20; Daniella Gilboa, 20; Naama Levy, 20; and Liri Albag, 19 - were captured during Hamas' attack on October 7, 2023, which sparked the war.
They were seized from Nahal Oz base near the Gaza border when Palestinian militants stormed it, resulting in more than 60 deaths.
