Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Gunshots in North Ayrshire after car fire as police probe trio of 'linked' incidents

Gunshots were heard in a North Ayrshire street the day after a car was set on fire and a man suffered a serious head injury in a neighbouring town.Police have this afternoon revealed the astonishing details of a trio of incidents they believe to be linked and targeted in Ardrossan and Saltcoats.And detectives blasted the behaviour of those involved – labelling it as "extremely reckless" – as they launched an investigation and an appeal for information.The drama began around 1am on Friday morning when officers were called to a disturbance on Eglinton Road at Dalry Road in Ardrossan.A 20-year-old man was found with a head injury and taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock for treatment.

A vehicle had also been damaged.Later that same day, around 11pm, police were out again in Ardrossan following reports of a car fire on McDowall Avenue.
