An ongoing murder trial at Manchester Crown Court has heard how Cole was gunned down in the street as he tried to run away from a car crash following a chase.
On Wednesday, jurors heard Mr Mohammed claim he acquired a pistol for his own protection just hours before the alleged killing.
Giving evidence in his own defence, Mr Mohammed said he decided to get the gun after he was attacked by Cole's friend, Spencer Woods, two days earlier.
