Joe Otterson TV Reporter “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” is on the move. NBC is moving the drama series from its current Sunday night timeslot to Fridays at 8 p.m.

ET/PT beginning April 4. “Dateline NBC” will take over the Sunday 10 p.m. slot. The move does not bode well for the future of “Grosse Pointe,” as a move to Fridays midway through a freshman season typically indicates a show is destined for cancellation.

NBC has been successfully programming comedies on Friday nights of late, however, with the Reba McEntire multi-cam “Happy’s Place” recently earning a Season 2 renewal.

The season finale of that show is set to air on March 21. Still, despite relatively solid reviews, “Grosse Pointe” has failed to make a major impact in the broadcast ratings.
