Greenock murder bid cops hunt 12 men 'involved in disorder'

Cops investigating a murder bid in Greenock are hunting around 12 males who were involved in "disorder". Emergency crews were raced to Oxford Road at 11.20pm on Thursday, April 13.

Medics attended and on arrival, a 22-year-old man was found injured.His current condition is unknown. Officers from Police Scotland are treating the incident as attempted murder.As part of their ongoing inquiries, they remain in the Larkfield area where the assault took place.

They are currently reviewing door-to-door and CCTV inquires as they appeal to locals to come forward with any information.Particularly, they want to hear from around 12 males who were involved in "disorder" at the time of the incident.

One male is described as white and was wearing a blue hood before he fled towards Auchmead Road. Detective Inspector Gordon Smith said: “Police remain around Oxford Road and are asking residents and visitors for any information they may have about this incident.
