The UK property market is showing no signs of slowing down with demand to buy a home at its highest level in recent years. According to property site Zoopla, demand for homes is currently 25 per cent higher than the average over the last five years.

Even amid the cost of living crisis, levels of buyer interest remain on a par with this time last year. Although house hunters are now expected to be impacted by the Bank of England's most recent interest rate rise and some may be pushed out of the market, Zoopla say this is being offset by those with a continued desire to move.

Data from Zoopla's latest house price index on August 1 has now revealed the areas of the UK with the highest and lowest demand to buy a home in the UK, with one town in Greater Manchester being named among the top five most popular places.
