On the morning of the Manchester Marathon, the sun has made an unexpected appearance. As tens of thousands of runners are set to tackle the 26.2 mile route through the city today, the weather may be of concern after parts of Greater Manchester witnessed snow and -1C temperatures this week.
But participants and spectators will be pleased to known that there is only a small chance of rain today expected at around 12pm, with the rest of the day looking fairly dry.
Temperatures across the day are set to be fairly cool reach a high of 9C. Later this evening temperatures are likely to drop to 6C and we can expect a 'cloudy, wet and blustery night' in some parts of the region, but it is likely to stay frost-free.
