A serving Greater Manchester Police officer has disputed claims that he was having a secret sexual relationship with an alleged rape victim.
PC Simon Rose is on trial at Liverpool Crown Court where he denies misconduct in a public office and also attempting to pervert the course of justice.
A jury has heard that he met the vulnerable single mum-of-three after calling round as a specially trained officer to deal with her report of rape by two strangers who had taken her off in a car. Seven years later by coincidence a search warrant was issued for her home and he allegedly tried to dissuade his colleagues from searching it.
