Greater Manchester curry house named best in the country at 'Curry Oscars'

A Rochdale restaurant and takeaway has picked up the coveted title of "Champion of the Champions" at the Asian Restaurant and Takeaway Awards 2023 (ARTA).

Based on Dale Street in Milnrow, The Milnrow Balti Restaurant in Rochdale fought off tough competition to be crowned the best restaurant in the UK at the prestigious awards, which were attended by Asian restaurateurs alongside MPs, dignitaries, and celebrities.

The same eatery picked up the North West Restaurant of the Year - an award they also took home in 2022. A number of Greater Manchester eateries were nominated at the prestigious awards, which are often dubbed the 'Curry Oscars'.

Held at Hilton Park Lane in London last night (October 8), the awards represent one of the largest celebrations of Britain's vibrant Asian restaurant and takeaway industry.
