Following successful pilots with the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme in other areas last year, it's the first time authorities in this region have benefited from the government funding.
The aim of the HAF programme is to make free places available to children eligible for and in receipt of free school meals for the equivalent of at least four hours a day, four days a week, six weeks a year.
