It comes as ten areas throughout the region saw a week-on-week fall in their infection rates. All boroughs except Salford and Manchester saw cases numbers fall by over 25 percent. READ MORE: Family share story of dad, 42, who refused vaccine but then died of Covid Wigan, Bolton, which now has a rate of below 200, and Rochdale saw the biggest falls, of 44 percent and 41 percent.
And they are three of six areas - along with Bury, Trafford and Tameside which have rates below the national average, which is 281.7 per 100,000.
