In remembrance of the late drummer, a video package played at the ceremony showing clips of Taylor performing as well as behind the scenes footage and candid photos of him onstage and on tour with the Foo Fighters. “I realized that to be a good drummer you have to be an actor,” Taylor said in one part of the clip as the Foo Fighters song My Hero played over his voice. “He's the best drummer in the world, we love him so much,” bandmember and beloved friend of Taylor’s, Dave Grohl, could be heard saying in another part of the footage.

The Foo Fighters won three non-televised awards at the Grammys despite not being at the event, which included Best Rock Song for Waiting on a War, Best Rock Album for their project Medicine at Midnight and Best Rock Performance for Making a Fire.
