Graeme Souness defends Rangers with 'monster club' response as legend bites back over 'bigger and better' claim

Rangers after being asked if Steven Gerrard was headed for "bigger and better things" in his next job.The former Ibrox manager himself left Govan for Liverpool in 1991 but he's adamant that you only move for a different challenge rather than a bigger club.Gerrard has led his side 23 points clear of Celtic in the title race this term while topping his side's Europa League group.This has brought speculation that a club from a stronger league, or even his beloved Liverpool, may swoop to offer him a route out of Scottish football.But Souness was adamant that Rangers are a "monster club" and any move would be sideways at best.He said on the Robbie Fowler podcast : "I don’t think you get much bigger and better than Rangers.
