A Stockport GP practice has issued an urgent warning following reports of scammers targeting patients. Heaton Moor Medical Group say the individuals are posing as surgery staff members and contacting patients registered with the practice.

The fraudsters then ask for bank details and attempt to sell them health-related products. Bosses at the Heaton Moor Road surgery sent out a text to all registered patients yesterday warning them about the con.

They are asking anyone who has received a scam call to contact the police on 101.
