Jet2 issues urgent warning to Scots holidaymakers travelling to this Italian destination in October

Leading airline Jet2 have issued a warning about a major diversion that could affect Scottish holidaymakers later this month.In a message to customers, the international carrier announced that operational changes will affect flights to Naples Airport between October 27 and November 3.The Daily Express reports that flights going to Naples in the south of the country will be operating from an alternative airport almost 50 miles away on those dates.Jet2 operate flights to Naples from both Edinburgh and Glasgow Airport.

It's a hugely popular destination for culture-hungry tourists who want to explore its historic streets, not to mention outstanding pizza restaurants and pastry shops.Jet2 said in a statement: "Due to operational issues beyond our control at Naples Airport, between October 27 and November 3, 2024 inclusive, all our Naples flights will be operated to and from Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport."However, there is no need for holidaymakers planning to travel to Naples on those dates to change their tickets.The airline explained: "Just so you know, our booking and pre-departure systems, including Manage My Booking and any boarding passes, will still show flights at Naples Airport.

Your flight number will stay the same."Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport only opened to commercial flights earlier this month. It's about 45kms southeast of Amalfi and an hour’s drive from Naples, whereas Naples Airport is just 15 minutes from Naples.Jet2 recently launched a sale on all flights departing between October 2024 and the end of the year.

A recent Jet2 update reads: "As the UK weather takes another turn for the worse, Jet2.com and Jet2holidays are making sure that the sunshine isn't just a distant memory by launching a brand-new sale
