Government ministers are reportedly planning to lift Britain’s coronavirus lockdown in June – with different areas released at different times.

A top Whitehall team is said to be drawing up a list of options to remove the restrictions once Covid-19 hospital admissions start to fall.

The Times claims civil servants are drawing up options for a staggered release so Britain can get back to normal as soon as possible.

It comes after a Treasury warning that the government will not be able to stop business going under if the lockdown goes beyond June.
