Former SFA chief Gordon Smith doesn't believe the season should be ended early and has proposed a restructure to ensure the campaign can be completed.
Last week the SPFL proposed a resolution that would have ended the lower leagues as they stand, with the potential to do the same in the Premiership at a later date.
The fate of that motion is unclear, with Dundee still to submit their casting vote, but one former SFA chief believes finishing early should not be on the table at this stage.
