Good Morning Britain fans love 'handsome' Gordon Smart after Scots star made debut this week

Scots broadcaster Gordon Smart made his Good Morning Britain debut this week - and viewers are loving him already. The 42-year-old former newspaper journalist hosted the ITV breakfast programme on Thursday and Friday alongside Charlotte Hawkins - much to the delight of viewers.

The talkSPORT host was announced earlier this week as the latest face on the rolling line-up, which also includes Susanna Reid, Ben Shephard, Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway.

Sharing his "first stay of school" nerves yesterday during his opening segment on the show, Gordon told viewers: "It’s been very surreal the past three years sitting in my pants watching this show and here I am watching you. "I feel like I’ve had the right experience to be here sitting beside you."[I’ve been] working in newspapers a long time in the entertainment beat and then politics in Scotland and then a bit of time in radio for the last five years doing music, then politics recently.

So, I’ve set myself up for a huge fall, Charlotte... but it’s great to be beside you." Viewers were quick to take to Twitter and share their views on the Scots broadcaster, as many praised the 'handsome' star as being a 'breath of fresh air'.
