The Golden State Warriors have been a powerhouse of a team over the last five years. Their core is made up of star point guard and sharp shooter Steph Curry, another “splash brother” guard in Klay Thompson, the big man Draymond Green, and from 2016-2019 star forward Kevin Durant.
After losing Klay Thompson to Injury in the 2019 NBA finals and Kevin Durant to the Brooklyn Nets in 2020 free agency, the Warriors quickly fell to the bottom of the Western Conference.
The nail in the coffin was the loss of Steph Curry with a broken right hand in the first half of the 2020 season. Left with Draymond Green to lead a group of G-League players the season quickly became a train wreck for the organization, the players, and the fans.
