Gogglebox fan-favourites Jenny Newby and Lee Riley sent Radio 2 into chaos after accidentally swearing live on air. The duo appeared on the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show to celebrate the ten year anniversary of the popular Channel 4 TV show, which sees Jenny, Lee and a number of other friends and family members react to the week's television.
As the pair played a game in which they were played clips of themselves and had to guess what TV show they were reacting too, Lee responded to one with: "Oh yeah that was that green sh*t." Realising his blunder Lee quickly apologised as Zoe told listeners: "Sorry for the language." Zoe then joked that they had previously had former Oasis lead singer Liam Gallagher on the show, and he had managed to get through it without swearing.
She then quipped: "If it's going to be anyone [who swears] let it be Lee from Gogglebox." Listeners took to social media to share their thoughts on the awkward blunder, with one writing: "CREASING AT LEE FROM GOGGLEBOX SAYING SH*T ON RADIO 2" which they followed with a number of crying emojis.
Another simply wrote: "Loved this interview this morning, Jenny & Lee are fabulous" while a third added: "I want to spent just one night with Jenny and Lee from gogglebox." Gogglebox's tenth anniversary comes amidst controversy surrounding Dame Shelia Hancock's departure from the show. The actress claimed she was "sacked" from the show after "angering" bosses when she complained about the amount of nudity she was being made to watch on shows like Naked Attraction. The 90 year old appeared next to her TV pal Gyles Brandreth on the much-loved celebrity version of the Channel 4 series.
