A trainee Greater Manchester Police officer wept as he left court after being cleared of sexually assaulting a female colleague.
PC Ryan Pointon was alleged to have put his hand high up on the inside of the woman’s thigh and squeezed, while giving her a lift home in early 2021.
After just under three hours of deliberations, a jury of eight women and four men at Liverpool Crown Court found the 29-year-old not guilty.
Mr Pointon, of The Meadows, Prestwich, had also been accused of asking the woman prying questions about her sex life. He admitted giving her a lift home but denied any inappropriate behaviour.
