Piers Morgan has hit out at criticism over not posting a black square on social media. The Good Morning Britain presenter said today he’d been ‘trolled’ for not taking part in Blackout Tuesday, which saw Twitter profiles post the blackout image in support of Black Lives Matter and in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
Mr Floyd, an unarmed black man, died on May 25 when a police officer knelt on his neck for more than eight minutes. The incident was caught on camera and Mr Floyd, 46, can be heard saying “I can’t breathe”.
The incident has sparked a backlash from those who demand justice for George and other people of colour harmed by police brutality and racism in America.
