Noel Phillips has revealed he was "mugged, racially assaulted, and spat on" in central London over the weekend. Good Morning Britain North America correspondent Noel took to his Twitter account to detail the horror incident, explaining to his 6,768 followers that he was left "shaken" by what happened. The TV star shared a snap of two police officers on an unnamed individual on the ground, over which he wrote: "I was mugged, racially assaulted, and spat on yesterday on a busy street in central London.

I’m ok. Just shaken." He then shared his gratitude to the police as he added: "Thanks to Sgt Clark & PC Busson from @metpoliceuk Euston town centre team for helping me catch and detain the ruthless thief." Noel added in the comments section that he chased the thief due to the adrenalin he felt at the time as he wrote: "Thanks for all your messages.

I know in hindsight I probably should not have chased my attacker - but adrenaline got the best of me. "I’m really grateful though to the officers who happened to be driving along and came to my rescue.

London is a beautiful city. Hate will never win." Metropolitan Police have since shared a statement with OK!, confirming that officers were alerted to the incident and intervened on Saturday 3 September.
