Dr Hilary Jones has spoken out on the devastating time he lost his friend to prostate cancer after being diagnosed "too late".The Good Morning Britain regular, 69, who recently said "everybody will get Omicron" whether they're vaccinated or not, spoke out in an exclusive chat with OK!

to highlight the importance of getting tested regularly and point out the early warning signs of the disease. "There was a guy that I used to play squash with regularly.

And he was only in his early 40s," he started, before explaining how fit and healthy his friend was – not to mention a "really good squash player". "But his father had died of prostate cancer and he'd never told his son what his underlying cancer was, presumably, because he was too embarrassed to say it was his prostate gland," he continued. "And he was my friend who developed the same symptoms." "By the time he came to see me, it was too late to save him," he shared.

Dr Hilary explained that while this took place 20 years ago, it's still fresh in his mind. They would go down to play squash once a week together and he joked about how his pal was a "better player than me".
