Kate has been posting weekly messages on Instagram following clap for carers, which have in turn been read out on GMB. But this time her update was tinged with hope as Kate revealed that she had been speaking to Derek Draper via video call after being told, despite his condition, he may be able to hear her.
Derek is still critically ill in a coma in hospital after testing positive for COVID-19. Ben today hosted the ITV programme with Ranvir Singh and the pair were upbeat about the news.
