A Royal Conservatoire of Scotland graduate has been named as one of the victims killed in a fatal train crash in Greece. Talented singer Elisavet "Eli" Chatzivasileioudied alongside 56 others when a passenger service collided with a freight train last month.
The 26-year-old studied at the Glasgow arts school until graduating in July 2021. The former pupil has been remembered as a “very popular and promising young singer” with her death affecting many staff and students, Glasgow Live reports.Paying tribute to Eli, the school said: “It is with deep sadness that we share news of the death of recent RCS graduate Elisavet Chatzivasileiou.
Elisavet was confirmed as one of the many casualties in the Greek rail accident at the start of this month."Elisavet (Eli) graduated from the BMus programme in July 2021.
She was a very popular student and a promising young singer, known to many of our graduates, current students and staff."Our thoughts are with Elisavet's family and friends at this sad time, and with all of you who knew her."Facebook users sent their thoughts and well-wishes to Eli's family and friends.
