Gladiators star Sharron Davies has bravely shared details of her horror show injury that left her needing nine surgeries.The 61 year old, who is best remembered for her stint as Amazon on the original ITV version of Gladiators that aired in 1995, spoke of the harrowing ordeal she had to go through on the show, which resulted in her requiring nine operations and even a knee reconstruction.

While participating in the program's Pyramid Game, the former Olympian, who won a silver medal in swimming at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games, sustained a severe knee injury, reports the Daily Star.

The objective of the game was for her to prevent contestants from reaching the summit of the 32-foot-high structure, but unfortunately, while attempting to tackle one of them, she suffered a catastrophic fall.

In her 2023 book titled Unfair Play, Sharron vividly recalls the incident, saying, "I was pulling and I pushed the contender off and she fell on top of my leg and snapped all the ligaments on my knee.
