The long-awaited Gladiator sequel will reportedly begin shooting in May with filming locations already selected for Ouarzazate, Morocco.The Sun reports that locations in the Moroccan city have been chosen for filming, with a source estimating the sequel could be 'ready' as early as 2024.While details of the story have remained closely guarded, the outlet reports the sequel may revolve around Roman Empress Lucilla's son Lucius Verus.

The long-awaited Gladiator sequel will reportedly begin shooting in May with filming locations already selected for Ouarzazate, Morocco Russell Crowe, who played the titular gladiator who was killed at the end of the film, has not yet signed onto the movie, however fans are of course hoping he returns for a flashback scene.The search for actors to play the major roles has also already begun, adds The Sun.  'This has been building since 2018 and for a long time it looked like it may never see the light of day,' the source said. 'But suddenly late last year the production team really sprung into life after settling on a new script which seemed to inspire them.'A few months later everything was up and running and now it’s well underway.
