A teenager is still fighting for her life in hospital after taking suspected ecstasy. The 16-year-old girl was found critically ill down an alleyway off Wilbraham Road at around 7.30pm on Tuesday (April 30).
Police were called by paramedics after a report was made concerning the girl's welfare. She was rushed to hospital from the scene, where she remains in a critical condition.
A 21-year-old woman who was initially arrested on suspicion of supplying Class A drugs has since been released on bail pending further enquiries. The alleyway was taped off immediately afterwards and a cordon erected along the road, in the centre of Chorlton. The incident has sparked Greater Manchester Police to pledge their 'commitment' to tackling the supply of drugs across the region.
