Popular television chef Gino D'Acampo has a checkered past that saw him sentenced to two years in prison for buglary. Prior to being saved by his passion for cooking, the Italian native became mixed up with the wrong people and fell into a life of crime.

It all started back in the 1990s when the talented cook had moved to London at the tender age of 19 in pursuit of new and exciting culinary experiences.

At the time, Gino flitted around several hospitality roles before being caught up in criminal pursuits. In 1998, and at just 21 years old, Gino broke into Paul Young's house in Mill Hill, North London.

During the break in, Gino stole the legendary singer's £4,000 collection of guitars and a platinum disc before quickly making his getaway.
