The 20-year-old burst onto the scene midway through last season, being recalled from a loan spell at Bamber Bridge by Ian Evatt.
In total, Thomason made 25 appearances in all competitions for Wanderers and scored his first goal in the EFL in the 3-3 draw on the road against Carlisle United.
