George Clooney once turned down a life-changing amount of money for one day's work because the paycheck would come from a "questionable" country.
The actor, 60, didn't say what country that was, but implied that his wife, Amal, a human rights attorney, dissuaded him taking the job. "I was offered $35 million for one day's work for an airline commercial, but I talked to Amal about it and we decided it's not worth it," he told The Guardian. "It was [associated with] a country that, although it's an ally, is questionable at times, and so I thought, 'Well, if it takes a minute's sleep away from me, it's not worth it.'"George is reportedly worth $500 million, so he's certainly in a position to back away from a massive payday.
