'Gentle and kind' man, 45, found dead in house is named as murder investigation continues

A 'gentle and kind' man who died in a house in Wigan has now been named as detectives continue to investigate his suspected murder.

Andrew Brown, 45, was found dead at the property on Fern Close, in Shevington, after emergency services were called to a concern for the welfare of a man at around 9am on August 9.

Police and paramedics attended but Mr Brown was pronounced dead at the scene. Initially, police said his death was 'unexplained' as forensics descended on the quiet cul-de-sac. She was later released on bail as detectives currently remain at the scene to investigate. In a tribute, The Plough and Harrow pub, who is run by close friends of Andrew said he was a 'gentle and kind' man.
