Gemma Oaten has shared a picture from her childhood, showing her on day release from a children's psychiatric unit as she works to raise awareness for eating disorder groups.
The Emmerdale star shared the snap of herself, aged 12, waving two flags as she headed to Wembley to watch her brother Chris play in a rugby game on a rare day out while she was being treated for anorexia.The 37-year-old posted the image alongside a message reflecting back on her treatment as a child. "This photo was taken before I went to watch Chris play for @hullkingstonroversofficial in the challenge plate Cup final at Wembley," she wrote. "The children's psychiatric unit is was in, where I'd nearly lost my life, allowed me to go after months of refeeding and on.
