Gemma Atkinson fumes 'why' at Gorka Marquez over home move after weeks apart

Gemma Atkinson laughed as she recalled being left fuming at Gorka Marquez following his return home after weeks away. They're no stranger to having to spend time apart due to the latter's job on Strictly Come Dancing.

Back in September it was revealed the Spanish dancer would be paired with Dr Punam Krishnan for the 2024 edition of the BBC One dance contest.

With the Morning Live star and practising GP being based in Glasgow, it meant Gorka temporarily moved to the Scottish city. With his busy work schedule seeing him head to London with Punam each weekend for final rehearsals and the live show on a Saturday night, Gorka made the decision not try a pop back home inbetween to not upset his and Gemma's children - Mia, five, and one-year-old Thiago. READ MORE: BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden suffering 'terribly bad luck' as injury details emerge He said during a social media Q&A: "I could go home, for example on a Sunday, but at the same time I have to travel to Glasgow and choreograph my next routine so it's quite a tight schedule and I think coming home for two, three hours is actually going to make it worse. "It's going to mess up their routine and I think for Mia now, she's used to, 'he's away, I'll see him when he's finished'.

Me going home it may have them think I'm going to stay home and then I'm going to go away. So it's just juggling all those emotions and feelings but I can't wait to see them!" So fans were therefore delighted to see the pair reunited when Gemma's work brought her to London meaning they were able to spent time together before they both attended the Pride of Britain Awards last month alongside Dr Punam and many of Strictly's 2024 stars.
