Back in 2019, Gaynor Faye broke fans hearts when she announced she was leaving Emmerdale after playing Megan for six years. Her character had a seriously dramatic life including losing her son, being abused by her half-brother and a feud with Charity Dingle.
During a recent interview with So Glos, Gaynor revealed why she decided to leave the dramatic soap behind and move onto pastures new.
She confessed that the opportunity arose for her to reunite professionally with her mother and she couldn’t resist saying yes.
Her mother is Kay Mellor who wrote the hugely successful Fat Friends TV series and she jumped at the chance to appear in the stage adaptation of Kay’s series Band of Gold.
