Gary Neville and Paul Scholes have spoken on Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney wanting away from Manchester United during the Sir Alex Ferguson era.
During a live panel of Gary Neville's new show The Overlap on Sky Sports, the hosts were asked on situations where players have tried to leave whilst at the club before a move never materialising.
Scholes and Neville touched on Rooney and Ronaldo both wanting to leave the club, before coming back in to the dressing room as they remained United players.
Neville revealed that in 2008, Ronaldo had wanted to leave the club ahead of his dream move to Real Madrid. Neville said: "He asked to leave and the manager did a deal with him that he could leave the year after as a gentlemen's agreement -
