Garth Brooks had friends in no places last night as residents angrily denounced the GAA for allowing extra concerts at Croke Park during a stormy meeting.
One resident shook with emotion as she spoke of her neighbours having to disinfect the street because men were urinating against the walls at a previous Croke Park concert.
And a local shopkeeper stormed out after refusing to allow the meeting chairwoman to move on to another speaker. He said nobody had come into his shop to inform him about the concert plans for the country superstar.
After he was repeatedly ruled out of order by the chairwoman of the meeting, Noeline Blackwell, the man picked up his jacket and left, to applause from some residents who opposed the concerts.
