A teenager made a shocking confession on a controversial reality game show – then tragically, two months later, her boyfriend murdered her.
Ruth Thalia Sayas Sanchez, who was the first contestant on the Peruvian version of The Moment of Truth, won £3,000 after answering a series of difficult questions.The concept of the TV game involved asking a total of 21 probing questions in six levels.
Contestants would nab the cash prize if they answered each level correctly while strapped to a lie detector. On the show, host Beto Ortiz put Ruth into a hot seat by asking quite personal inquiries.
Most shockingly, he dropped this question: "Do you think your parents would be proud of you if they knew what you did for a living?" The question cornered the young woman.
