Popular bakery chain GAIL's have responded after a 'mistake' was spotted in the signage of their new site in Prestwich. Since August, rumours had circulated online that bakery chain GAIL’s was to take over the former NatWest bank building on Bury New Road.
It was later confirmed to the M.E.N that the popular chain, which has now opened various sites in the north including Wilmslow, Altrincham, Didsbury, Sale and Manchester city centre, would be coming to the north Manchester town. READ MORE: Manchester Christmas Markets' best food, and exactly where to find it in 2024 However, last week (Sunday, November 17) locals quickly spotted an error with the wording of the new signage on the windows, which spelt Prestwich incorrectly as 'Preswich'.
The sign read: "Hello Preswich. We'll be baking here soon." A week later, new signs have been put up on the former bank. The bakery apologised for the 'mistake' and has offered customers a 'cup on us'.
The new sign reads: "Oops.. people of Prestwich, we owe you a 'T'. You may have seen how we missed a 'T' out in our new bakery signage.
