Still, that hasn’t prevented the 71-year-old Dubliner from taking the lead in the Fox-produced action show, War Of The Worlds, which returns for a second series next month.
But Byrne, who plays Bill Ward in the alien invasion drama says these days he needs to conserve energy. ‘The idea of running with a gun in my hand, back and forth, didn’t excite me too much, really,’ says Byrne, who is father to a four-year-old daughter. ‘Just because I don’t want to do that.
