Gabby Logan has opened up about a period of "self-destruction" where she surrounded herself with men who "didn't want the best" for her following a traumatic loss in her life.The tragic death of her brother Daniel at just 15 years old left a profound impact on the TV star.
Daniel, who had an undiagnosed heart condition, died suddenly after collapsing in their family garden in 1992.As he was preparing to start a professional football career with Leeds United, his passing deeply affected Gabby, who at that time was concluding her first year in law studies at Durham University.During a candid conversation with Matt Willis on his podcast On The Mend, the former Welsh international gymnast and BBC Sport presenter said: "After my first year of exams in the summer, I had a sort of mini collapse I think.
I had to start facing up to grief." As she dealt with her mourning, Gabby recalls making decisions that were out of character for her, later seeking the help of a therapist to cope with her actions.
She added: "I was starting to be quite self-destructive and I didn't really want to carry on being like that. I didn't use drugs and wasn't a massive drinker but I was going out more and having a lifestyle that I didn't recognise," reports Leeds Live.
