A dad whose daughter was sanctioned by her school for having a broken ruler and refused a replacement has slammed the policy as “excessive”.
Darren Worthington blasted Millfield High School in Thornton after parents received a text telling them their children could face detentions and exclusion if they forget basic implements - including two pens, a pencil, and a ruler.
The enraged dad questioned how the policy helps children learn and took to social media to complain, in a post that has racked up thousands of likes and started a heated debate, reports LancsLive.
