A man directed a furious outburst towards a woman after she woke him from a sleep, wanting him to walk her to a pharmacy. Joseph Wright was furious and in a "bad mood" at being disturbed and he kicked her in the head with his bare foot, causing a "nasty" injury near her eye that needed hospital treatment, the court heard.
Wright also confessed to assaulting the woman in a separate incident - on Christmas Day. The woman later said after the second assault: "This incident as a whole, as well as the other incident, has made me feel worthless." She was scared of what Wright was capable of doing and she had been left with injuries to her face and head. He also admitted assaulting her on Christmas Day. Benjamin Donnell, prosecuting, said that, on January 20, Wright became annoyed and argumentative when the woman, from whom he was separated, woke him up at the Barnsley Street home.
He had said that he would walk with her to a pharmacy, reports HullLive. He broke bedside drawers in the bedroom before going downstairs.
