Thunderstorms and heavy rain are set to batter the UK from tomorrow with the Met Office issuing two yellow weather warnings - one for Friday and one for Saturday - covering large parts of the UK.
Forecasters have warned affected areas could see disruption to public transport, flooding and damage to buildings as a result of lightning strikes.
The change in weather comes as the high pressure that brought a recent spell of settled conditions pulls away to the north, bringing wetter weather, particularly for the southern half of the UK. READ MORE: Met Office issue UK storm warning as heavy downpours forecast for weekend The thunderstorm warning for Friday, which will be in force from 12pm until 8pm, covers most of south-west England, parts of Wales, the Midlands and west London.
Saturday's warning covers a slightly larger area, including parts of the North West, and will be in place from 1am until midnight.
