Voters will take to the polls across England and Northern Ireland for the local elections this spring. Polling stations in England will open on Thursday, May 4 and the results will be revealed on Friday, May 5.
Meanwhile locals in Northern Ireland will cast their votes two weeks later, on Thursday May 18. A majority of the seats up for election this year were last contested in May 2019.
In England, 146 local authorities will be electing their full council, while 83 will have a third of their seats up for grabs.
