A fugitive wanted for the murder of a police officer during a bungled armed robbery is due to appear in court on Monday where the evidence against him is expected to be heard.

PC Sharon Beshenivsky, 38, was shot in the chest during a raid at a travel agent in Bradford, West Yorkshire, in November 2005.

Six men were jailed in connection with her murder but alleged ringleader Piran Ditta Khan fled to Pakistan before being arrested last January.

Khan, 72, has been in custody since then and is expected to continue to fight his extradition at a court in Islamabad on Monday.
