Marc Malkin Senior Editor, Culture and EventsThe 2024 LACMA Art+Film Gala attracted some of the biggest stars of film, television, music and art on Saturday night in Los Angeles.Among those spotted at the 13th annual event were Kim Kardashian wearing Princess Diana jewels she bought at an auction, the evening’s co-chairs Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Chow, Colman Domingo, Andrew Garfield, Laura Dern, Ricky Martin, Omar Apollo, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Tilly, Matt Friend, Lisa Ann Walter, Kaia Gerber, Cooper Koch, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, Chloe Sevigny, Javier Bardem, Viola Davis, Anna Kendrick, Sarah Paulson, John David Washington, Dev Patel and Eliza Gonzales, among many others.Baz Luhrmann was honored with this year’s film award, presented by Anna Wintour, while sculptor Simone Leigh received the art award from attorney and social justice advocate Brian Stevenson.“I am shaking a bit actually,” Luhrmann said, adding, “In fact, I’m a little bit crying inside.”He later said, “Whether it’s music or fashion or theater or art or film, there are no silos.

In the end, all creative people are trying to do is to express themselves, reach out and touch people. So these silos, these borders between them, they are meaningless.”The night was capped off with a performance by Charli XCX with a surprise appearance by her Sweat tour partner Troye Sivan.Sponsored by Gucci, the night also included the debut of Gucci Notte, Sabato De Sarno’s second eveningwear collection for the fashion house.

The evening began with an arrivals line with celebs posing at LACMA’s famed Urban Light street lamp installation on Wilshire Boulevard.
