Alan Carr brought Bruce Forsyth’s Play Your Cards Right back to our television screens on Saturday night – and walked straight into a sexism row.
Some of the show’s five million viewers thought ITV’s decision to drop the Dolly Dealers from this revamp was political correctness gone mad.
Others argued it was right to leave such outdated attitudes towards women in the past. Both sides seemed to agree on one thing, though: it was great to see a classic game show back on the TV.
Audience reaction to Alan was also positive, although he’d be the first to admit he has a long way to go before he can join the list of game show greats.
