Frenkie de Jong has opened up about the conditions that might prompt him to leave Barcelona, and his latest comments come two years after admitting the Spanish club had intended to sell him to Manchester United.
The Dutch midfielder made the switch to the Blaugrana in 2019 from Ajax for £62million (€75m), but he hasn't quite hit the same level of form he displayed in his native country.
Despite being a regular in the starting lineup for Barcelona, the limited amount of trophies he's secured since joining – a La Liga title, Copa Del Rey and Spanish Super Cup – has led him to reconsider his long-term commitment to the club. I expected at least double, so that disappoints me. Things happen on the road you can't predict," he said in an interview with Voetbal International.
